That is the conclusion of the market research agency, SBI Energy, which estimates that the total shipment value of HVAC products will increase from 14.5 billion dollars in 2012 to close to 17 billion in 2017.
According to the study, the main drivers of this recovery will be heat recovery equipment (with a composite annual growth rate of 4.4%) and air heat pumps (4.9%). Sustainable products and equipment, including air and geothermal heat pumps, and a trend towards efficient building will also contribute to the market recovery.
After steady growth between 1997 and 2006, when sales of heating and air-conditioning equipment grew by 41% and 45%, respectively, this market suffered strongly from the recession, resulting in redundancies and manufacturer production line stops.
"Industry growth will begin to accelerate in 2015," says analyst Darren Bosik, "when the impact of government initiatives is felt in the United States real estate and construction industries, in particular the construction of buildings that consume the energy they convert.“
